Dear Friends,
We begin the New Year 2011 with more than just a letter. Permit this opening page as our heartfelt thanks for all of you who have been supporters to our mission – to be united with a common purpose and spread camaraderie of Bisaya heritage not only in Southern California but all over the globe. For this mission is what we hope to find in each one of our readers – a blessing of our heritage.
The year in passing has been economically difficult. We curtailed our spending and activities to give way to a smaller venue in fundraising for the benefit of our recipients which is the rehabilitation and education of the street children of Cebu City. In so doing, we especially desire that the hope and Spirit of BBC will continue to permeate our culture, and giving life to Bisaya ancestry. Just as the Olympic torch is held high and passed from runner to runner, the spirit in us holds high the light of our mission – carrying it and sharing it.
We invite you into our mission and vision of promoting, creating and expanding a strong camaraderie, hence our logo, “from our little Visayan corner to the global community.”
