Fiesta sa Carcar in Cypress, CA
by May T. Mediano
November 29, 2010
The date on November 27, 2010 in Cypress, CA was honoring St. Catherine of Alexandria, the patron saint of Carcar town in Cebu. The town known for its old Spanish stylized houses and somber countryside, the Carcaranons in one such occasion were united in bringing about a feeling of harmony and love amongst the residents in Southern California. The mass, officiated by Fr. Ven Ilano gave a warm jubilation to St. Catherine, a major reunifying factor uniting all Carcaranons to invite their relatives and friends in Cypress, CA while sharing togetherness and brotherhood.
The program attributed a lot of talents and we’d like to congratulate a violin prodigy, Bradley Bascon with his father, Conrad “Dodong” Bascon. Other highlights were the song and dance number of Miss Liza Manila with her “Cabaret” medley, the Schaefer sisters, Sandra and Erika singing “Hey! Soul Sister” and the dancing men of Carcar. The show's emcee also led the much enjoyed line dancing.
Our warm regards to the officers of the Carcar Fiesta: Eli San Jose – President, Emma Sovenson – Secretary, Done Ponteres – Treasurer, Virgie Kaeta – Auditor and the Board of Directors: Eddie Siacer, Warren Gabrillo, Cris Florido, and Arnulfo Fano for a very warm celebration of brotherhood.
